Julie is the owner of Smart Business Consulting. She started as office manager in 2007 and bought the business in 2011. Julie has her bachelor’s degree from California State University, Chico.
Growing up in her father’s business she started doing payroll and bookkeeping at the age of 9. Julie loves what she does and is very methodical and organized. She loves working with the small businesses of the Klamath Basin, helping in anyway she can. Owning her own business gives Julie the ability to give back to the community. Julie is currently on the board of Tiny Hopefuls.
Away from the office, Julie is a farmer’s wife. Julie and her husband Jacen, are partners in the Jespersen Swan Lake Ranch in Dairy, Oregon. She has 2 little children who keep her busy. Julie loves hunting, camping, gardening, photography and scrapbooking.
Marla Miller holds a M.S. degree in Managerial Communication from the University of Portland and a BS in Business Administration from Southern Oregon University.
Before joining SBC, Marla taught management for 15 years at Oregon Institute of Technology where she utilized her prior experience in health care administration and human resource management.
Bookkeeping is Marla’s “after retirement” job where she enjoys being involved in providing affordable bookkeeping and professional human resource management skills for her clients.
